For Western Nevada College Foundation, higher education and golf go together like students and pizza. The WNC Foundation is thrilled to announce the 26th annual Golf for Education Tournament on Friday, Sept. 26, at the scenic Toiyabe Golf Club in Washoe Valley.
This lively event is more than holing out eagle and birdie putts on the greens — it’s a direct investment in the future of Nevada’s workforce.
“We are deeply grateful to our community partners and players who make this tournament possible year after year,”said WNC President Dr. J. Kyle Dalpe.“Their generosity allows us to support students with the programs they need to succeed, while also boosting the industries that drive our state’s economy. We look forward to another fantastic event.”
Proceeds from the scramble-style tournament help WNC students earn vital workforce certifications — credentials that lead to meaningful employment and fuel Nevada’s growing economy. Whether it’s student training to become a manufacturing technician, welder or software technician, your participation in this event helps break down financial barriers and build up career opportunities.
“We are excited to, once again, host this exciting event while raising important funding for our students,” said WNC Foundation Executive Director Niki Gladys. “This tournament is a great opportunity for members of the community to help students with financial need acquire the certifications essential for meaningful employment to support Nevada’s expanding economy.”
In addition to changing lives, players will enjoy a top-tier golf experience complete with:
- Exciting hole contests
- A delicious BBQ lunch
- Premium swag
- A vibrant post-tournament reception
- Prizes and giveaways
- Great networking opportunities with community and business leaders
