William Herman

William R. “Bill” Herman, 69, died July 14, 2025 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS. Born December 27, 1955 in Ransom to Robert William and Agnes B. (Pfannenstiel) Herman, he was a lifetime resident of Lane County. He was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus #3210 in Dighton.

Bill attended Shields Grade School and graduated from Dighton High School in 1974. He attended Colby Community College and graduated from Fort Hays State University. Bill worked at Citizen State Bank in Utica before becoming the office manager at Ranger Feeders in

Dighton. He worked there for 27 years before retiring in 2016.

Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, throwing horseshoes and golfing with friends and family. He was the amateur champion in horseshoes 3 years in a row while attending FHSU. And you would count yourself lucky if you could beat him at foosball. But his greatest passion was bowling, and he excelled in that sport. In July of 2012 Bill won the USBC Senior Championship, Open Division, age 55-59 in Reno, Nevada. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, 1 nephew and 2 great nieces. He is survived by 3 brothers, Don & Betty Herman, Springfield, MO, Rick & Carmen Herman, Greeley, CO and Leonard & Margaret Herman, Smithville. MO; 11 nephews, 2 nieces, many great nephews and nieces, as well as several great, great nephews and nieces.

Memorial Service will be at 10:30 AM on Friday, August 29, 2025 at St Theresa Catholic Church in Dighton with Rev Don Bedore as Celebrant. Burial in Dighton Memorial Cemetery.
