Wanda was also the proud great-grandmother to 25 great-grandchildren and eagerly anticipated the arrival of her first great-great-grandchild.
Wanda’s entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly as she owned and operated a flea market in Nevada, bringing joy to her customers and community. Later, she brought the same dedication and care to her work as a housekeeper after moving back to Arkansas. Her work ethic and involvement in her community were hallmarks of her character.
An avid lover of the outdoors, Wanda found joy in hiking and swimming with her brother Dave and sister-in-law Bev.. Her garden was a testament to her love for nature, and her talent for drawing captured the beauty she found in the world around her. Wanda’s infectious smile and laughter were a beacon of light to all who knew her, and her tenacity in standing up for her family was unparalleled.
Wanda’s life was a tapestry of love and commitment to those she held dear. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, as they remember her as a woman who was fiercely loving, endlessly kind, and spirited to her core. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to have been touched by her presence.
As we say goodbye to Wanda Lou Merritt, we celebrate a life well-lived and cherish the memories that will forever be etched in our hearts. Her spirit will continue to flourish in the lives of her family and the many friends who were blessed to know her. A private celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
