Verna Kocar

Verna L. Kocar, age 70 of Highbridge, WI passed away peacefully on August 26th, 2025 surrounded by her loving family at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, MN. Verna was born on February 3, 1955, in Ashland, WI, the daughter of Richard and Arlene (Graf) Grage.

She was united in marriage to Donald R. Kocar on October 12, 1973 in Mellen, WI and had 3 children together. She was a hard worker, homemaker, enjoyed crafts, cooking and decorating and always knew how to make everyone laugh.

She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Don of Highbridge, WI; children, Jeremy Kocar of Holcombe, WI, Stacy (Ryan) Stephens of Gilman, WI, Amanda (Thomas) Lauback of Seattle, WA; two sisters, Loretta Jamieson of Highbridge, WI and Marie (Larry) Ludwig of Hawaii; grandchildren; Alena, Jacob, Mason, Mylie and Wyatt, nieces and nephews, and her canine companion, Charlie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Arlene (Graf) Grage and her brother, Dale Grage.

There will be no formal funeral service for Verna at this time.
