Edith Belfort

Edith Delivrance Belfort, a beloved mother, grandmother, and a friend, transitioned from this life on Saturday August 23, 2025 at North River View Nursing Home In Haverstraw, New York at the age of 83 years old.

Born in Petrionville, Haiti on March 26, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Eleonore Jean-Paul and Pierre Belfort. In 1986, Edith came to the United States and worked at Mt. Host Marriott in Sloatsburg, New York for over 20 years before retiring. Her kindness and quiet strength touched all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed by many.

She is survived by her only son, Wancy Joseph, who is accompanied by his loving wife, Colette Girault, who has been supporting him and giving him endless love and care ever since the passing of his beloved mother. He not only has received support from Colette but also Sandra Cinevert, and from all of Edith’s beautiful lovely grandchildren, Madjaline Joseph, Wallance Joseph, Matthew Joseph and Fabiola Claire Joseph. She is also survived by her cousin, Adeline Cadet of New York; one living sister, Jacqueline Belfort of Canada; nephew, Kadley of Canada; her cousin, Marie Alphonse of Orlando, Florida, and her children, Lesly and Peggy; and her best friend, Antonia of New York.

Though she may no longer walk beside us, her love, wisdom, and unwavering spirit will remain forever in our hearts. Her memory will be cherished always, and the impact of her life will continue to be felt by all who knew and loved her.
