Valeria Cicero

Valeria Cicero, 98, passed away at Belmont Village Senior Living of Buffalo Grove, IL on Thursday, May 29, 2025.  She was born in Chicago, IL on November 24, 1926, the daughter of the late Anna and Paul Genda.  Val, as she was known and loved, never hesitated to lend a helping hand, to add a bright smile, to bake up some gourmet cookies, to send Lotto tickets to her loved ones, or to make a beautiful holiday craft for her family and friends to display in their homes.  

She is survived by her son Thomas (Debby) Cicero, her daughter Sue Cicero, grandsons Mark (Laura) Cicero, Steve (Danielle) Cicero, great grandsons Connor, Trevor, Benjamin, Emmett and Cooper Cicero, sister Dolores Clemente, sister-in-law Josephine (Frank) Givens, and many wonderful nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband Thomas Cicero, parents Anna and Paul Genda, daughter Linda Cicero, brother Walter Genda, sisters Eleanor Genda, Barbara Rychlik, Mildred Jurkowski, Nora Talaga, Frances DeMaine and Joan Pranica, in-laws Pasquale and Amalia Cicero, and brother-in-law Mike (Gloria) Cicero.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 from 10:00 AM until the Memorial Mass begins at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10 North Buffalo Grove Road, Buffalo Grove, IL.  Interment private.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Home for the Elderly of Palatine, IL.  Arrangements entrusted to Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home.  For info, 847-359-8020.
