Susan Styron

Susan Gandy Styron, 68, of Hattiesburg, passed away at her home on Thursday, September 4, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 8, 2025 at Hattiesburg Community Church with interment to follow in Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service, beginning at 9 a.m.

Mrs. Styron was a devoted member of Hattiesburg Community Church. She cherished time with her friends in the “Monday Night Gladness Club,” where they gathered on Monday evenings for dinner and pottery. She was an avid Auburn fan. A talented and creative spirit, she enjoyed arts and crafts, pottery, and gardening. She also loved cooking, sewing, and, above all, spending time with her children and grandchildren, who were her greatest joy.

She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Virginia Gandy; her paternal grandparents, Doyle and Mary Gandy; her maternal grandparents, William and Daisy Tucker; and one angel baby.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Styron; her daughter, Stephanie N. McKeough; her sons, Hunter G. Nichols, Cody Styron, and Josh Styron; her grandson, Finley McKeough; her granddaughter, Mya Styron; her brothers, Thames (Donna) Gandy, Byron (Barbara) Gandy, and Reggie Gandy; her sister, Melba G. Clark (Stan); 8 nieces and nephews; 12 great nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins and extended family and friends that she loved dearly.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Rodney Rocconi and his staff at UMC Cancer Center, Dr. Louis Varner and his staff at Forrest General Cancer Center, and Dr. Adam Purvis for all that they did for Mrs. Susan and countless other patients.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that friends consider donating to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Forrest General Cancer Center.
