Kenneth “David” Chitwood, 57, of Hannibal, MO, passed away at 11:37 AM, Friday, September 5, 2025, at his home in Hannibal, MO.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, September 8, 2025, at James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal, MO.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Monday, at the funeral home.
David was born September 17, 1967, in Hannibal, MO to Rose Frame Chitwood.
Survivors include his three children, Andy Chitwood (Katie) of Frankford, MO, Dustin Chitwood (Debbie) of Monroe City, MO, and Kenneth Chitwood Jr. (Brittany) of Hannibal, MO; three brothers, Mike Chitwood (Becky) in Hannibal, MO, Larry Crane (Linda) of Des Moines, IA, and Terry Crane (Monica) of Des Moines, Ia; three sisters, Dottie Crane of New London, MO, Pat Miles of Frankford, MO, and Phyllis Hayes (Dan) of Jacksonville, IL; 14 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his mom; one son, Austin Chitwood; two brothers, Tom Crane and Richard Crane; three sisters, Barbara Sheperd, Sharin Sidwell, and Janet Shobe.
David worked in construction, as a mechanic, and in local factories.
An avid Dallas Cowboys, David rarely missed cheering on his favorite team. David had a need for speed and appreciated the thrill of participating in street racing. In his free time, David enjoyed building model cars, listening to KISS, watching the Rocky movies and his favorite actor, Jean Claude Van-Damme. Most of off, David treasures his time spent with this family and friends and will be missed.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Chitwood Jr., Andy Chitwood, Dustin Chitwood, Mike Chitwood, Bobby Sharp, and Tannon Lorton Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Crane and Terry Crane.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.
