Sue Baker
Sue Heath Baker, 89, of Damascus, VA passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025 at Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, TN. She was born in Washington County, VA on August 3, 1935, a daughter of the late Garland and Martha Heath. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George William “Bill” Baker; two brothers, Eugene Heath and Jack Heath; and two sisters, Thelma Palmer and Sunshine Tilson.
She was a life long resident of Washington County, VA and retired from Columbus McKinnon Corporation. She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday school for many years.
Sue is survived by one daughter, Nancy Baker; one son, Garland Baker (Hildie); one grandson, George Blaine Baker (Morgan); two great grandchildren, August and Millie; two sisters, Freda Dolinger and Shelby Blevins (Russell); and several nieces and nephews.
A private service will be held and she will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park in Damascus, VA, with Pastor Junior Gobble officiating. Flowers will be accepted or in lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
