Stephen Servetah
- April 3, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Stephen Servetah announces his death on April 3, 2025, at Bayshore Medical Center in Holmdel, at the age of 79.
Born on October 29, 1945, in New York, Stephen lived a life marked by resilience and quiet dedication.
He was the son of Fred and Sadie Servetah, both of whom predeceased him. He is survived by his sister, Marilyn Franz, her husband, James, and their son, Fred; his three children and their spouses—Adam and Mary Servetah of Manalapan, New Jersey; Stacie and David Sherman of Eastampton, New Jersey; and Ashli and Kenneth Gaulette of Manalapan; as well as his six grandchildren: Cameron, Benjamin, William, Brielle, Jack, and Carter.
After attending Erasmus Hall High School and Brooklyn College, Stephen ran Beacon Pleating & Stitching Co. for nearly three decades, carrying on the family business through changing times. As New York City’s Garment District evolved, he transitioned into the automotive industry, working most recently with Perrine Auto Group and Cranbury Buick GMC.
Despite facing serious health challenges—including diabetes, cancer, and kidney failure requiring dialysis—Stephen remained fiercely independent. His enduring spirit was evident in his love for movement; he was known for disco dancing at local restaurants well into his 70s.
Stephen found joy in life’s simple routines: shopping at ShopRite and Walmart, enjoying breakfast at his favorite diners, and attending his grandchildren’s activities. He shared a special bond with his autistic granddaughter and was a dedicated volunteer and donor for the annual 5K fundraiser benefiting Eden Autism, Brielle’s day program.
A graveside service will be held at Floral Park Cemetery, 104 Deans Rhode Hall Road, Monmouth Junction, on Sunday, April 6, at 10 a.m. Shiva will follow at the Sherman home, 13 Nature Way, Eastampton, until 8 p.m.
Donations in Stephen’s memory may be made to the American Kidney Foundation at kidneytribute.rallybound.org/steveserve.
