Stacey Evans

Stacey Kane Evans, 50, of Lee Center, passed away on October 3, 2025 at Wynn Hospital. She was born in Rome, a daughter of Delbert Kane and Cheryl Anson Combs. She was a graduate of Rome Fee Academy and attended MVCC. On September 20, 2002, she was united in marriage to Paul A. Evans., Jr. at St. Paul’s Church.

Stacey had a huge love of animals and rescued many cats and dogs. She would find them proper homes or take them in to her family home. She knew so many people that were unable to transport their pets to veterinary appointments which led her to create her own business, Stacey’s Pet Taxi.

Stacey was a lifetime member of the and past Senior Vice President of VFW Post 2246 Auxiliary. She was also a member of the American Legion Post 1794 Auxiliary. Along with her love of animals, she was an original founding member of R-Cats.

She loved to read and also enjoyed cooking and baking, especially trying new recipes. Treats from her kitchen were always special. She loved to decorate her home inside and outside, and her door was always open to family and friends. As a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend, she was the absolute best.

Surviving besides her loving husband, Paul, is her son, Connor Evans; mother, Cheryl Combs (David); father, Delbert Kane (Theresa); stepdaughters, Kelsey Swiss (Tyler), Lauren Evans, and Meghan Evans; grandchildren, Ollie and Wren Swiss; in-laws, Susie and Paul Evans, Sr.; and sister-in-law, Lynette Sexton (Matt).

Family and friends are invited to call a Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc. 418 N.
