Sally Ann Prosser, 77, of Rome, passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Albany Medical Center. Born in Red Bank, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Everet and Sarah (McQueen) Anderson.
Sally Ann was a secretary/administrator for Legal Aid of Oneida County for over 40 years, retiring in 2013. She was very active in various Veterans organizations serving as the President of the Frank J. Steczko PAV Auxiliary, wearing many hats including that of the VFW Post 2246 Auxiliary Treasurer for the last 5 years, and the Henry P. Smith Post 24 American Legion where she was a member of the Auxiliary as well. She led the honoring and support of all Veterans causes throughout the years.
Sally Ann is survived by her three sons, Stephen Prosser (Manuela), Paul Prosser, and Robert Prosser (Joelle); a sister, Sonja Hluska (Jerry DeBlaso); five grandchildren, Christopher Prosser (Aleksandra Gajewska), Lara Prosser, Dallas Prosser, Dominic Prosser (Kara), and Therese Prosser (Leland Reed); two great-grandchildren, Adam and Maks; special friend, Richard Petroski; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by he long-time companion, Frank Linzy; two sisters, Beverly Townsend and Audrey Petrie; and her brother, Ronald Anderson.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 30th at 12:00 p.m. at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome NY 13440. Interment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home prior to the service on Monday from 10-12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution in Sally Ann’s memory to a local Veteran’s cause of your choice.
