Ruth Jass
Ruth Jass, of Frankfort Square, sadly passed away on July 26, 2025.
Ruth was the dear wife of Richard Jass, and they were married for forty-eight years. They met while Rick was studying at the University of Illinois in Urbana which also happened to be Ruth’s hometown.
Ruth was the fond mom of Ryan Jass of Elgin and Robert (Brittany Kotek) Jass of Madison, Wisconsin; loving daughter of Kenneth Tjarks and sister of Karen Tjarks and Mary (Tim) Wyse; aunt, relative and friend of many.
Ruth worked as a dental hygienist for many years and dedicated herself to caring for others. Not just at work, Ruth found a way to make everything around her grow. She nurtured everything and everyone she came in contact with.
Ruth loved the outdoors, especially hiking in National Parks and traveling around the United States. A passion that she passed along to her children. She also enjoyed photography, especially wildlife, and was rarely without her camera on a trail. She was never afraid to try new things.
Ruth loved her family and friends dearly. She will forever be missed and never forgotten.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 2:30 PM to 8:00 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S Main St., Lombard.
