Roberta McGuiggan

Roberta (Bert) Jane (Leatherman) McGuiggan, age 98, passed away June 18, 2025 at Christian Community Home in Osceola, WI. Roberta was born July 22, 1926 to parents Charles and Anna (Becker) Leatherman.

She was married to John (Jack) E. McGuiggan Jr. on December 26, 1944 and to this marriage had 10 children – 7 girls and 3 boys.

Her praying hands raised ten children, held and cared for 24 grandchildren, and laughed with 51 great-grandchildren, and 25 great-great grandchildren. Her hands worked at jobs for 63 years and threw bowling balls for over 80 years, totaling over thousands of games.

Most important she prayed to God our Jesus Christ every day of her life. The Bible was read daily, and her faith was very important to her. May God bless and keep her now and always.

She is survived by her children Greg Mcguiggan of Big Lake, Lynda Wing of Osceola, WI, Sheryl (JR) Hoiby of Osceola, WI, Susan (James) Ward of Ellendale, MN, Rick (Julie) McGuiggan of Osceola, WI, Lynn (James) Quigley of Osceola, WI, Kitty McGuiggan of Montgomery, MN, Robyn (Dwight) Holmbo of New Prague, MN, Kelly Pexa (John Crosby) of New Prague, MN and John McGuiggan of Montgomery, MN; 24 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren; 25 great great grandchildren; sister Jackie Blaschko; many nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband John McGuiggan Jr.; parents, Anna and Charles Leatherman; brother, Kenneth Deeg; daughter-in-law Dorothy McGuiggan; and grandchildren Greg McGuiggan Jr., Sara McGuiggan and David Wing.

Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 9, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Richters Woods County Park, 35674 173rd Avenue, Montgomery, MN 56069. Place of interment will be held at a later date at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN, next to her spouse.
