Ricky was born on July 12, 1951, the first child of Allen and Margaret (Hambeck) Ludemann in Lynch, NE. He was later joined by five siblings. His family moved around before settling in Fort Pierre in 1961. He graduated from Stanley County in 1969.

He met Mary Stark and they were married in 1974 and divorced in 1977. Together they had their only son Micheal, Rick built an unbreakable bond with his son. Rick was an avid sportsman and he loved to fish and hunt. He would teach anyone that wanted to learn how to fish or hunt, including the best places to go.

He worked as a mechanic for 3O years at Sioux Texaco Service. Rick then went to work as a mechanic at EnviroTech after the service station closed. He later became a driver where he did that until he retired in 2018, but he couldn’t completely stay away as he returned to EnviroTech as a relief driver and trainer.

When Ricky wasn’t working, hunting or fishing you could find him napping in his chair watching his favorite TV show Gun Smoke. Ricky is known for the love that he had for his family as he absolutely doted on his son Mike, grandchildren Christopher, Emma, Presley and Paxton as well as his great grandchildren Evan, Everett and Hadley. He will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his son Mike (Amanda) Ludemann, his grandchildren: Chris (Megan) Ludemann, Emma Ludemann, Presley Ludemann, Paxton Ludemann, Hayden Campbell, Landon Campbell, Cameron Campbell, his great grandchildren: Evan, Everett and Hadley Ludemann. Rick is also survived by his two brothers, Greg Ludemann and Steve Ludemann, one sister Laurie Ludemann, nephews: Shad (Brandy) Ludemann, Shawn (Sarah) Ludemann and Louis (Chantell Wren) Burley, his great nieces and nephews along with his aunt and uncle Wayne (Lorraine) Ludemann.
