Raymond Charles “Ziggy” Letourneau, 84, of Columbia, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at home with his wife by his side.
Ziggy was born on April 22, 1941, in Central Falls, Rhode Island. He graduated Deering High School in West Warwick, Rhode Island. After graduating high school, Ziggy enlisted in the US Navy and achieved the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He was a Naval Aviator and a Vietnam War Veteran.
After leaving the Navy, Ziggy attended college at Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, Kansas and graduated with an associate degree. He spent his life and career serving others. There was never a friend nor neighbor in need as he was always generous with his time, conversation and helping hand.
His proudest moments were receiving his wings with the US Navy and marrying his wife, Judith Ann Kelch ,on December 19, 1964.
Above all Ziggy was a family man and loved spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Ziggy is survived by his wife Judith Ann Letourneau and his three daughters, Aimee Smith, Jennifer Lightstone, and Susan Sappington. He is also survived by his six grandchildren, Shelby Bott, Dylan Sappington, Charlie Lightstone, Ann Lightstone, Blake Smith, and Brett Smith, as well as his two brothers Philip Letourneau and Victor Letourneau.
Friends will be received on Sunday, November 2, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Parker-Millard Funeral Service in Columbia, Missouri. Funeral service will begin immediately following visitation at 3:00 p.m. Private family inurnment will be at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, Missouri.
