Richard Okapal
Richard A. Okapal, age 73 of Plano, IL passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at Accent Care Hospice in Naperville, IL. He was born on April 3, 1952 in Aurora, IL the son of Louis and Marion (Tebbit) Okapal.
Richard was united in marriage to Juliana Paschali on June 5, 1976 then spent the next 49 years happily together. Mr. Okapal was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Plano, IL. He was formerly employed by Farmer’s Insurance Company and later the Zeller Realty Group, until his retirement. Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Richard is survived by his wife, Juliana Okapal of Plano, IL; his sons, Richard A. (Amy) Okapal, Jr., of Plano, IL and Jeremy (Stephanie) Okapal of Cape Coral, FL; his grandsons, Cole and Corbin Okapal; his siblings, Thomas Okapal of Yorkville, IL, Andrew (Kelly) Okapal of WI, Peggy (Scott) Krieger of Oswego, IL and Louanne (Dave Boehn) Okapal of WI; also many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Janet (Robert) Brackett, Joan (Ray) Fichtel, and Jon Okapal; also his sister-in-law, Maryanne Okapal.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 North Bridge Street, Yorkville, IL. Interment will be private.
Friends may visit from 1:00 PM until the Hour of Service on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at the Funeral Home in Yorkville, IL.
