Richard F. “Dick” Demack, 87, formerly of Momence, IL, died on Friday, August 15, 2025, at the Crown Point Health Campus in Crown Point, IN. He was born on September 23, 1937, in Danville, IL, the son of Henry F. and Clara P. Mazur Demack. He was married to Elizabeth Pragit on July 22, 1962 in Momence, IL. She preceded him in death on March 16, 2004. Dick later married Patricia Eckhoff on July 11, 2008. She preceded him in death on March 23, 2022.
He is survived by four children; Frank Demack and Jill Lincoln of Momence, IL, Paul and Tina Demack of Momence, IL, Eric and Shannon Demack of Bourbonnais, IL and Kim and Keith Horn of Momence, IL. Two step daughters; Tina Gomez of Chicago Heights, IL and Teri Shupert of Palm Harbor, FL.
Also surviving are nine grandchildren; Alex Demack, Ben Demack, Coen Demack, Kortney Schmidt, Katlyn Demack, Frankie Demack, Ashlee Denton, Dustin Demack, Faith Horn and four step granddaughters; Breanna, Lacey, Abbey and Nicolette, and seven great grandchildren; Emersyn, Reed, Jazzlyn, Kendall, Mayson, Wyatt and Veronica. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother; Jerry Demack, and three sisters; Sylvia Schopf, Bernie Kelson, and Colette Fisher.
He worked and retired from Illinois Bell as a Foreman and Lineman. Richard was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Momence, IL, where he was an usher. He served on the St. Patrick Cemetery Board. He was a long time member of the cooking crew for the annual St Patrick Beef Cook Out. He was also a member of the Pioneers Club and Kankakee River Conservancy.
He enjoyed watching sports, fishing and boating as well as flea marketing. Dick especially loved spending time with family, grandchildren and many special friends.
