It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Nina — a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, mentor, and a guiding light to all who knew her.
Nina was the embodiment of kindness, compassion, and quiet strength. Her journey began in Baku, where she was a gifted music teacher who loved working with children. Her passion for nurturing young minds and hearts shone brightly from the very beginning of her life’s work.
When her family was forced to flee Baku as refugees, Nina left behind not only her career, but the home and life she had known. Despite the heartbreak and uncertainty, she faced this chapter with remarkable courage and determination.
Starting over in a new country, without knowing the language, Nina rebuilt her life with resilience and grace. While raising a family and working tirelessly to support others, she earned a second Bachelor’s degree from San Francisco State University and later received a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from San Jose State University — graduating with high honors.
Through her work as a librarian and later as a Branch Manager, Nina became a mentor and inspiration to many — from children who attended her library programs to coworkers and community members who benefited from her warmth, encouragement, and unwavering commitment to helping others.
She was a true role model — graceful, optimistic, and endlessly giving. She was a friend in need to anyone who needed a friend, a quiet force of strength, and an angel in the lives of those who knew her.
Her family was the center of her world, and her love could be felt in every gesture, every phone call, every word of encouragement. She and her husband celebrated over 50 years together — a lifetime of devotion that began in their teenage years and endured through life’s many challenges.
Though she experienced heartbreaking loss in recent years — losing her son — Nina carried herself with courage and dignity. Her passing leaves an immeasurable void in our hearts, but her love, wisdom, and gentle spirit will forever be with us.
Gone too soon at just 73, Nina’s sudden passing has left an immeasurable void in the hearts of all who loved her.
We are grateful to all who have reached out to support and remember her. Her memory is a blessing, and her legacy lives on in all of us who were lucky enough to be loved by her.
