It is with great sorrow that we announce Maureen Eloise (Johnson) Schaller, age 84, of Faribault received her angel wings on Friday, May 2, 2025, at the Three Links Care Center in Northfield surrounded by loved ones.
A celebration of Maureen’s life will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 2 p.m. at Boldt Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Faribault.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Boldt Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Interment will be held at Meadow Ridge Memorial Park, Faribault at a later date.
Maureen Eloise was born to Morse E. and Helen L. (Walerius) Johnson on May 14, 1940, in Shakopee. Maureen graduated high school with the class of 1958 in Montevideo. Maureen married her high school sweetheart, Michael J. Schaller in 1959. From their union, three children were born, Loree, Timothy and Debra. They later divorced after 17 years of marriage. Maureen took over raising their three teenagers on her own. She had many jobs to provide for her children, usually working two jobs at a time. Maureen worked for The Lavendar Inn, CJ’s, Faribault Regional Center, St Olaf College and more.
Maureen loved flowers and gardening as well as playing 500 and bridge with her friends. In her younger years, she would host holidays. She was a wonderful cook and baker. She was known for her pie making skills, often being asked by family if she could make the pies for a gathering. Maureen also loved babies! Most of all she loved her family, children, grandchildren, great grands and great great grands, sisters, nieces, in-laws, all of whom still call her sister or daughter. Maureen was loved by family and friends; she loved all. Maureen was an “Angel on Earth”!!
She is survived by her daughter, Loree (Rich) Sommers of Faribault, granddaughter, Molly (Tedd) Pederson and their children, Gracie (Ricky), Piper (Jacob), Chloe, Zachary; granddaughter, Jessica’s children, Alexis, Lucas (Cheyenne) & Ava; Maureen’s son, Tim Schaller of Dayton, Ohio; grandson, Brandon Schaller and his children Jordan, Kaden, Vincenzo; great-great grandson, Jordan Jr., granddaughter Shelby (Russell) Davis and their son, River; Maureen’s daughter, Debra (Mike) Olson of Garvin; grandson David (Ashley) Jones and their children Alaric & Aurora; grandson Alex (Elizabeth) Jones and their children Connor and Nathan; granddaughter, Katrina (Jabes) Olson and their daughter Olivia; sisters, Maxine Johnson of Casa Grande, AZ., Charlotte Johnson of Ham Lake, Jan (Gene) Smith of Mesa, AZ., Diana (Gary) Johnson of Eden Prairie; sister-in-law, Joyce and (Howard) Kron of Clara City; many nieces, great nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends; one more great-great granddaughter coming September 2025.
Maureen is preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Morse Johnson; stepmom Appolonia (Theis) Johnson; stepmom Arvis (Hanson) Johnson; father-in-law, Jesse Schaller; mothers-in-law Lorraine (Ness) Schaller, Charlene (Theis) Schaller; sister-in-law, Kathy (Schaller) Beito; granddaughter, Jessica Anderson-Beardsley.
