Mary Jo McGuire (nee Doherty) of Mamaroneck, NY passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on July 17, 2025. She was 63. Born in St. Vincents Hospital in New York City on December 3, 1961 to John and Ann Marie Doherty (nee Healey) and was raised in Pelham Manor, NY.
Mary Jo leaves behind her beloved husband, Scott McGuire; her loving children, Casey, Megan and Brinn; and her cherished grandchildren, Taylor, Dylan, Skylar, and newest baby Shea. She is also survived by her dear siblings: John Doherty (Lorraine), James Doherty (Amy), Kathleen Bogue (Parker), Richard Doherty (Donna), Diane Conover (Christopher) and Thomas Doherty (Donna), as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her relationships were her greatest joy-none more cherished than the bond she shared with her grandchildren. She treasured every minute spent with them.
Mary was happiest at home with her family, but she was ready for a ski trip or a beach vacation with her loved ones. Mary spent her childhood summers at Caspary Lodge in DeBruce NY, it quickly became her favorite place on earth. Since 1994, she had also been a proud member of Orienta Beach Club, where she enjoyed her summers sitting within a circle of dear friends.
To honor Mary Jo’s life, family and friends will gather on Thursday July 24, 2025 from 3:00pm to 8:00pm at Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home, 767 E. Boston Post Rd. Mamaroneck. A prayer service will be held at 7:00pm.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to; St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital www.stjude.org/donate or Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center www.giving.mskcc.org
