Dale Woodard, a beacon of unwavering faith and boundless love, completed her earthly
journey on July 15, 2025. Born on January 24, 1967, in the Lower East Side Manhattan,
Dale’s life was a testament to the strength and compassion that defined her character. A
devoted daughter, mother, and sister, she leaves behind a legacy of kindness that will
continue to inspire all who knew her.
Dale was the cherished daughter of Susie Woodard and the late Marion Woodard Sr.,
and she carried the values instilled in her by her parents throughout her life. As a loving
mother to Samuel and Tyrell Rucker, Dale’s nurturing spirit and unwavering support
were the cornerstones of their lives. Her presence as a sister in the Woodard family – to
Wendy, Marvin, Ellington, Mel, and Angel, and the memory of her late brothers Mark
and Marion Jr. – was a source of comfort and joy.
After graduating from high school in the lower east side, Dale dedicated over two
decades of service to the New York Police Department as an administrative assistant.
Her commitment to her role was evident in the meticulous care with which she
approached her duties, and her retirement, just a year before her passing, was a
well-deserved respite after a career of steadfast dedication.
Dale’s faith was the guiding light of her life. As a Christian, she embodied the love and
grace that she believed were at the heart of her religion. She was a pillar in her
community, offering support and encouragement to all who were fortunate enough to
cross her path. Dale’s interests were a reflection of her generous spirit; whether she
was at the casino enjoying the company of family and friends, crafting beautiful works of
art, or cooking up a storm in the kitchen, she did it all with a heart full of joy and a desire
to bring happiness to others.
Those who knew Dale will remember her for her loving nature, her faith-filled heart, and
her unwavering kindness. She was a person who truly lived the words of Mother Teresa:
“Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.” Dale’s life
was a series of small, loving acts that together created an immense impact on the world
around her.
Today, as we reflect on the life of Dale Woodard, let us honor her memory by embracing
the virtues she exemplified. Let us be kind to one another, support each other in times
of need, and above all else, let us love with the fullness of our hearts. Dale’s spirit will
forever be a guiding light, encouraging us to live our lives as she did, with love and faith
at the forefront.
As we bid farewell to Dale, we take solace in knowing that her journey continues
beyond the veil, and her legacy of love remains with us. Her life was a beautiful tapestry
woven with threads of kindness, and her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts
of those who loved her. Dale Woodard, a true servant of love, will be deeply missed but
never forgotten.
