Marian Filip

Marian Filip, of Mamaroneck NY, passed away on May 11, 2025, at age 52. He was born in Fagaras Brasov, Romania on May 18, 1972, to Stefan and Maria Filip. Marian arrived in the US nearly thirty years ago and became a proud American citizen on January 9, 2013. He was a talented Master Carpenter known for his beautiful work in Westchester homes and his technical skills building sound studios at Soundtrack NY. Marian was an avid boater on Long Island Sound, a fantastic grill chef and a Cadillac enthusiast who restored a dilapidated 1956 Series 62 for his wedding. He loved Naples FL, tailgating at NY Giants games and hiking National Parks. He was known for his extraordinary grace, strength, kindness and generosity. He leaves behind his brother Stefan, sister-in-law Doina, nephew Vlad and many aunts, uncles and cousins in Romania, his cousins Radu and Ileana Contiu and their children in Cleveland, his wife Amy Archer Filip, his adoring Archer in-laws, nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Hugh. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11am on Friday May 16, 2025, at Resurrection RC Church in Rye followed by private committal.
