Lyon County deputies arrest man accused of attempted armed robbery of UPS driver

Yerington, NV: On Wednesday June 25, 2025, at about 5:00 pm, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office  received a report of a robbery that took place at the Lyon County Fairgrounds in Yerington, NV.  

A UPS driver who was on duty and stopped at the Fairgrounds, was approached by a suspect who was armed with a rifle.

The suspect demanded money from the UPS driver while pointing a firearm  at them. The suspect then fled in his vehicle towards Yerington.

A description of the suspect and  his vehicle was provided to deputies in the area, who quickly located the suspect vehicle in  Yerington on Goldfield Avenue.

Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, however the suspect fled  and traveled towards the nearby Raley’s parking lot.  

Deputies pursued the suspect and were able to block the vehicle from continuing to flee and  subsequently took the suspect into custody without further incident.

After the suspect was  arrested, deputies found the rifle used in the robbery. The gun was in the dirt near the vehicle after  the suspect had tossed it out of the window prior to his arrest. 

The robbery suspect was identified as 42-year-old Yerington, NV resident Anthony Carlos. He was  booked into the Lyon County Jail and charged with the following: 

  • Robbery with the use of a deadly weapon 
  • Assault with a deadly weapon 
  • Eluding law enforcement 
  • Aiming fireman at another person 
  • Attempting to destruct Evidence 
  • Possession of a firearm by a prohibited person 
  • Felon failure to register his address 
  • Obstructing a peace officer  

His total bail was listed as $ 172,280. The case will be forwarded to the Lyon County District  Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
