Louise Karsten

Louise Mary Karsten, age 92, of Garden City, Idaho, passed away peacefully on June 20th 2025. She was born on December 30th, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Joseph and Mary Jasulaitis.

Louise is survived by her beloved children, Karen Phelps of Meridian, Idaho and Butch (Tammy) Karsten of Eagle, Idaho. She is also survived by her brother Robert Jasulaitis of Canada. She was a devoted grandmother to seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was always known to her loving family as Grandma “Weezee”. Her loving and devoted family always loved her “famous” chocolate chip cookies, which will never be able to be replicated yet, will be forever missed.

She enjoyed her retirement from the phone company in 1992 by reading her mystery thrillers, bunco, and bingo. Louise loved her Fannie Mae candy and her White Castle hamburgers and always homemade potato pancakes.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her ex-husband Harold of Idaho, a sister Dorothy from Michigan, a brother William from Florida, a brother Gerald from Illinois, and her son-in-law William from Idaho.

A celebration of life will be held with family and friends on Friday, July 18th at 2:00 PM at Cloverdale Funeral Home – Chapel.
