Lorenzy Gordon

Obituary

On October 21, 1941, Lorenzy A. Gordon was born to Elizabeth Williams and George Gordon Sr. Lorenzy in his early years was a student of the Bolivar County School District #IV in Cleveland, Mississippi.

Lorenzy accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Peter Rock Baptist Church under the leadership of L.L. Laws. (This was also the Church of the late Aretha Franklin.)

During his teenage years Lorenzy relocated to St. Louis, Missouri to live with his uncle JD Whitley. There he attended Sierra High School as well as Summer High School. Lorenzy moved to California in the early 1980’s to be closer to his brothers Clyde Herman and Michael. He joined Crenshaw Christian Center under the leadership of the Late Apostle Frederick K.C. Price (now under the leadership of Pastor Fred Price Jr.) Again he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Lorenzy was apart of the video crew for over 20 years, and he also was apart of the prison ministry. He loved telling everyone about God.

On October 17, 1981, Lorenzy married his favorite girl Sharon Renee James, and accepted her son Lamont Landers as his stepson, and from this union Latoya was born. Lorenzy was employed by Hughes Aircraft for 25 years and he also worked for Century 21, Rayshire- Ladera and his company LA Gordon Mortgage Center; he was very ambitious in and with his real estate and mortgage businesses. He loved learning new things. There weren’t many things he didn’t know.

He loved spending time with his grandchildren. PaPa was a name he answered to proudly. There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for them; even keeping them from getting into trouble with mom.

Lorenzy enjoyed visiting family in St. Louis, and telling everyone about the goodness of God. He was honest, funny, giving, loved God and his family. He was always on time for everything. He would always say… “it’s better to be early than on time.”

Lorenzy was preceded in death by his parents Elizabeth Williams and George Gordon Sr., sister Lula Mac Ringo, brothers: Clyde Gordon, Larry Gordon, Herman Gordon, Michael Gordon, George Gordon, and wife Sharon Gordon.

He leaves to cherish his memories his daughter Latoya Gordon and stepson Lamont Landers; sister Francis Trotter, grandchildren: Aaron Gordon, Alyssa Gordon, Astor Dorsey, Lamont Landers Jr., Kayla Landers and Ayiah Landers. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
