Brentwood, California. Linda Fleener 81, of Brentwood California, died Monday, April 21, 2025, at her home in California. She was born July 9, 1943, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the daughter of Laythle and Betty Jean Winegardner Timmons. She attended Oskaloosa High School. On November 27, 1960, she was united in marriage to Larry Gene Fleener in Oskaloosa. Early on Linda worked at Fareway Grocery in Oskaloosa. In 1966, they moved to California, and she worked at various grocery stores. She later took a job with California Restaurant Supply as their office manager. She retired from there in the early 1990’s when the family moved to Florida. After moving to Florida, she dedicated her time to caring for her family and home. She and Larry enjoyed dancing and travelling, especially going on cruises. After Larry’s passing, she relocated to California in 2009. She was also an avid coin collector. Linda loved many breeds of dogs.
Her family includes her two sons, Larry (Carl Brown) Fleener, Jr. of Brentwood, California and Robby Fleener of Gilbert Arizona; four grandchildren, Kassandra, Ryan, Aaron, and Timothy; and many nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years Larry Fleener, Sr on June 21, 2009; her parents; a sister, Mary Lea McAdoo; a stepdaughter, Deborah Cook-Irizzary; and a grandson, William Fleener.
Graveside funeral service and burial will be held Thursday, May 1, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa with Reverend Molly Goodrich officiating. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation with the family present will be held Wednesday evening from 5-7 p.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa. Memorials may be made to the MHP Hospice Serenity House.
