Roger Lee Patrin March 11, 1958 – April 19, 2025
Roger Lee Patrin, age 67, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2025. Born on March 11, 1958, in Minnesota to Janet (Sarsland) and Vernon Patrin. Roger grew up in Mounds View, where he developed a love for family, and a deep loyalty to the Minnesota Vikings.
Roger proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as part of the 82nd Airborne Division from 1980 to 1983. Following his service, he worked hard in various industries including a steel foundry, rendering plant, turkey processing plant, and the Sealey mattress factory.
Roger had a special bond with his many nieces and nephews, often spending time playing frisbee with them at the lake. Nothing made him smile more than hearing the familiar greeting, “Hi Uncle Rog!”—a moment he cherished with pride and joy. A fan of classic country music, Roger could often be found humming along to his favorite Alan Jackson tunes.
He is survived by his mother, Janet Patrin; siblings Stan (Jan) Patrin, Pam (Dave) Benner, and Steve (Carolyn) Patrin; and by his many beloved nieces and nephews: Holly (John) Spencer, Andrew (Tiffany) Patrin, Melissa (Mark) Spencer, Mitchel (Brittany) Lindberg, Alexandra (Darin) Benner, Anthony Benner, Shane (Allie) Patrin, Kami (Greg) Simmons, Skyler Patrin, Presley Patrin, and Payson Patrin.
In a profound moment of shared departure, Roger passed away just one day before his father, Vernon Patrin. Though gone too soon, Roger’s warm presence, and unwavering pride in his family will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
A celebration of Roger’s life will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at one o’clock at the American Legion in Forest Lake, MN, where stories, laughter, and memories will honor a man who was truly one of a kind.
