Lawrence Szmurlo

Larry M. Szmurlo, 74, of Hoffman Estates, IL.  4th Degree Knights of Columbus Council 11981.  Born September 12, 1951, in Chicago, IL to Adam and Lillian Szmurlo, passed away at home surrounded by his family on October 5, 2025.

Survived by his wife, Debbie, nee Zmuda; children, Stephanie and Adam (Melanie Koto) Szmurlo; siblings, Ron (Judith), Florian (Diana), Mary (Len), Len (Chris), Chester, Steven (Steve) and sister-in-law, Gloria (the late Leo “Peanuts”) and Marianne (Mike).  Larry is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Larry’s name to The Glioblastoma Foundation www.glioblastomafoundation.org, Make-A-Wish Foundation www.wish.org or The Knights of Columbus www.kofc.org.

Visitation Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 3-8 PM at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.  Funeral Friday, October 10, 2025, 9:30 AM from Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home to Holy Family Catholic Church, 2515 W.
