Larry Ward

Mr. Larry Michael Ward, the beloved son of the late Larry and Frances Ward, was born on November 27, 1976, in Athens, Georgia. He was the only child of Larry and Frances Ward and was preceded in death by his father.

Michael completed his earthly journey and transitioned to his heavenly home on June 22, 2025.

He attended local elementary, middle, and high schools in Commerce, Georgia, and later went on to attend Savannah State University.

Michael was a valued and dedicated machine chief at Johns Manville in Winder, Georgia. In his spare time, he loved fishing, working on cars, and, most of all, spending time with his family—especially his grandson, who brought immense joy to his life.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted mother, Frances Ward of Commerce, GA; his beloved daughter, Tiana Ward of Athens, GA; and his cherished grandson, Zaylen Sheats, also of Athens, GA.

He is also survived by his aunts: Matilda Perrin of Elberton, GA; Starkie Ann of Philadelphia, PA; Ruby (Bobby) Pittman of Commerce, GA; and Dianne Grimes of Commerce, GA; his uncles: Rev. Samuel Grimes and Cornell Grimes, both of Commerce, GA; and a host of cousins, friends, and co-workers who will fondly remember him.
