Larry Leggins

A graveside service with military honors for Larry James Leggins will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma.

Larry, also known as Sweet Legg, was born June 2, 1949, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and passed away August 21, 2025, in Leesville, Louisiana at the age of 76. For over 20 years, he proudly served in the U.S. Army as an attack helicopter repairman and spent two tours in Vietnam. Larry was a member and usher at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. His hobbies included bowling, watching game shows and following the Saints and Cowboys.

Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Janice T. Leggins; parents, Edgar James Leggins and Ida Beulah Spencer (need last name).

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Marvis Leggins and wife Terri;

daughter, Lesha Leggins;

five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren with one on the way;

brother, Ron Leggins;

sister, Karanena Sherman;

stepfather, Johnny Terry;

four nieces, three nephews, extended family members, and friends.
