Billy Ray Extine, Jr., 60, of Purvis, Mississippi, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2025. He was born on September 16, 1964, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, to the late Billy Ray Extine, Sr. and Jennie Vee Hodges Extine.

He is also survived by his sisters, Jennie Reynolds and her husband, Mike Reynolds of Picayune, Aimee Breland and her husband, Kevin Breland of Hattiesburg, Melanie Extine of Purvis, and his twin sister, Belinda Graham and her husband, Kent Graham of Hattiesburg.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents.
A devoted husband, father, brother, and friend, Billy was known for his big personality and straightforward nature. He never left anyone guessing what was on his mind and carried that honesty into every part of his life. Growing up as the youngest of five children in a household full of sisters, he quickly learned to stand his ground, but he was also deeply protective and loving – especially toward his children.
Billy was a talented hobby carpenter and craft enthusiast. He enjoyed tinkering in his shop, carving wood, and working on engraving projects, many of which he shared with Kippi. He had a passion for hands-on work and took pride in creating pieces that reflected his creativity and attention to detail.
Known as “Billy Ray” to family and “Billy Bob” to many of his coworkers at Zeon Chemicals in Hattiesburg, Billy made lasting friendships during his years there. After leaving Zeon in 2023, he pursued a new chapter alongside his wife, operating their own vending company. Earlier in his work career, he had also worked with other vending businesses in the Hattiesburg area.
Visitation will be held at Moore Funeral Home in Purvis, Mississippi, on Sunday August 31, 2025, 12:30 – 2 p.m. with a memorial service to honor Billy’s life immediately following at 2 p.m.
