Karen Ann McGill Wooddell, 72, of Harrisville, WV, departed this life Monday, October 13, 2025 unexpectantly at her residence.

She was born on September 18, 1953, in Harrisville, WV, a daughter of the late Floyd Jr. and Billie Lee (Randolph) McGill.

Karen was a 1971 graduate of Harrisville High School. Known affectionately throughout the community as “Miss Karen” or “Grandma K,” she was a beloved friend to many. She was a long-time member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church and dedicated many years to working as a preschool teacher at God’s Little Growing Place, at St. Luke’s, and as a campground attendant at North Bend State Park.

Karen had served as a longtime leader of the Harrisville Happy Days 4-H Club, and more recently volunteered her time to help with the Ritchie Riders Horse Club. An avid equestrian, she loved riding her horses, tending to her farm, camping, and fishing. Most of all, Karen adored being a grandma and loved every moment spent with her family.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Lori Everly (Dan) of Pennsboro, WV, and Julie Hilkey of Harrisville, WV; grandchildren, Ashton Hilkey, Avery Hilkey, Drew Everly, Luke Everly, and Brooklyn Deem; brothers, James “Jim” R. McGill of Pittsburgh, PA, and John “Johnny” McGill of Harrisville, WV; boyfriend, Cary Mossor; and bonus daughter, Rachel Shriver.

A service will be held at 11am on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at Raiguel Funeral Home in Harrisville, WV, with Pastor Gregg Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Harrisville I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Harrisville, WV. A visitation will take place Friday from 4pm-8pm, at the funeral home.
