Haskel “Hack” Smith, age 88 of Mousie, KY. Passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 14, 2025, at his residence in Mousie, KY. He was born on July 31, 1937, in Hindman, KY to the late Chester and Opal Church Smith. He was the husband of the late Alma Huff Smith.
Haskel is survived by his Children- Jeffery Smith, Tammy Collinsworth; Sisters: Emmie Vance and Zeda Amburgey; Grandchildren- Rebecca Dawn (Rod) Hayes, Amber Nicole (Jayson Hale) Collinsworth, Cameron Smith; Great-Grandchildren- Jeffrey Caleb (Brandi Amburgey) Combs, Zackrey Scott King, Alyssa Kelsey Dawn Campbell; Great-Great-Grandchildren- Nicolas Axel Colwell. Chandler Jase Colwell, Kinnleigh Amburgey, Joseph Amburgey; Fur Baby- Penelope Jane; A Host of Loving Nieces, Nephews, Friends & Family
Haskel is preceded in passing by his Wife: Alma Smith; Parents- Chester and Opal Church Smith; Siblings: Bennie Smith, Brewie Smith, Clawson Smith, Lewis Smith, Thurl Smith, Revis Smith, Elsie Ramey,
Evia Curry, Amey Asher, Evelyn Sturgill.
The family will receive friends from 6PM-10PM Wednesday October 15, 2025, at the funeral home chapel with service at 7PM with New Home Old Regular Baptist ministers officiating, and continue all day Thursday October 16, 2025, with service at 7PM with Ball Branch Old Regular Baptist ministers officiating.
Funeral services will be 1PM, Friday, October 17, 2025, at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral in Hindman, KY with Ball Branch Old Regular Baptist Ministers Officiating. Burial to follow at the Smith Family Cemetery in Mousie, KY. Haskel will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
