Robert Lorenzo

Robert “Rob” D. Lorenzo, a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home Sunday morning Oct. 12, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Tanya N. (Byers) Lorenzo.

Born on March 8, 1966, in Waltham, he was the son of the late Louis and Anita (Fagan) Lorenzo.

In addition to his wife, Tanya, and his ex wife, Debra, he is survived by a son Drew Lorenzo and his wife, Marissa (Matos) Lorenzo of Milford, a daughter, Hayley Pirnie and her husband Tyler of Milford and a step-son Samuel Colin of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.

He was a brother to Louis Lorenzo (wife, Carrie) of Caribou, Maine, Linda Taylor of Clinton, and Laura Lorenzo of Orange. He was predeceased by a half-brother, Tony Portengale from the U.K.

He is survived by many nieces and nephews too numerous to mention, but all loved and cherished.

Rob was a graduate of Milford High School’s class of 1984. His commitment to his community was evident early on as he dedicated 32 years of his life in service with the Milford Fire Department, where he served with honor and distinction. He also worked for the Milford Public Schools delivering food to the local schools. He also served as a superintendent at Hopedale Village Cemetery, ensuring that the final resting place of many was tended with respect and care.

Rob’s interests were as diverse as they were passionate. He was an avid poker player, a skill he enjoyed sharing with friends, family and competitive strangers.

He enjoyed pub trivia and loved to boast that his team was “almost famous” after several years of weekly competitions with the occasional win.

His love for the outdoors was evident in his enthusiasm for fishing, golf, hunting and above all cruise vacations with family and friends. These activities not only brought him abundant joy but also provided so many cherished memories with loved ones and friends.

Family and friends were of the utmost importance to Rob. He touched so many lives in his short 59 years that his children used to refer to him as “the mayor of Milford.” They couldn’t go anywhere with Rob that he didn’t meet someone he knew and they were stuck waiting while Dad visited. He will be missed and remembered long and well by so many.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday October 24th from 11:00 -1:00 in the Buma-Sargeant Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm in the funeral home.
