June Audrey (Anderson) Velie went home with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 17th, 2025 in Eau Claire, WI. She was 93 years old.
June was born on June 20th, 1932 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Gunnar and Imelda Anderson. Her father came from Sweden and she was very proud of her Swedish heritage.
June married Edward “Bud” Velie on June 13. 1953, and they were married for 64 years before Bud’s death. They were involved in Christian ministry and also farmed together with their family. She was a wonderful cook and was known to be able to make a meal from “nothing.” Her children and grandchildren loved her fried fish and she loved to eat walleye. She loved books and reading and she owned a Christian bookstore where she met many people who became good friends. She was very hospitable and hosted many people in her home. She loved to play piano and sing.
June is survived by her seven children- Kathy (John) Ailie, Keith (Linda) Velie, Kitty (Steve) Mitchell, Kenny (Karla) Velie, Kevin (Elizabeth) Velie, and her twins- Karla (Andy) Kauffman and Kay (Tom) Bradt; also 35 grandchildren and 54 great-grandchildren; her brother- Guy Anderson and her sister- Karin Woller.
She is preceded in death by her husband- Bud; her parents- Gunnar and Imelda; and daughter-in-law- Wendy Velie.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30am on Saturday, August 23rd, 2025 at Faith Baptist Church in Cornell, WI. The visitation will begin at 10:00am and go until the start of service at 11:30am. Burial at Martin Mission Cemetery will follow the service.
