James Marshall

James W. Marshall long time resident of Clinton, passed away peacefully at Yale New Haven Hospital on Saturday, May 31,2025 surrounded by loved ones.

Jim was born in Middletown, Ct. on November 24, 1947 to the late William and Helen (Jablonski).  He was a graduate of Cromwell High School, followed by Fordham University where he earned his Bachelors degree in Pharmacy.

For decades, Jim and his family owned and operated the Rexall Drug Store on Main in Clinton.  Upon his retirement, Jim received his Captain’s license and started his own charter business he named “Doctor’s Orders”.

Over the last several years, “Captain Jim” taught new boat owners how to operate their vessels correctly, as well as piloting luxury yachts for their owners.

Jim loved spending time with friends and family on the water, fishing at Meigs, Southwest, and The Race.

He is survived by his brother Richard Marshall of Gray Court, SC and step son William Harris of Niantic.  Also survived by his partner and former spouse Jane Marshall of Westbrook, special long time friend Carol Paprocki of Branford, and lifelong friend Grant Westerson of Old Saybrook.

Jim’s straight forward and no nonsense approach to life is how he’ll be remembered.

Services and burial will be held privately.
