Guy Hinton Stevens, 62, of Provo, Utah, passed away unexpectedly on the evening of May 21, 2025. A kind and gentle man, Guy lived a life of quiet strength, deep faith, and unwavering love for his family.

Born in Tooele, Utah, on November 21, 1962, to Raymond Charles Stevens and Mary Jane Hinton Stevens, Guy was raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he lived until 2006 and then spent the rest of his life in Provo, Utah. After graduating high school, in 1984 he served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Raleigh, North Carolina. A time he cherished and deepened his lifelong devotion to the Savior.

On June 1, 1991, Guy married his eternal sweetheart, Rebeca Lopez in the Las Vegas, Nevada Temple. They shared nearly 34 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, faith, and family. Guy is survived by his wife Rebeca, their children: Sandy Lopez Barber (Wesli), Shelby Stevens Argyle (Mike), Joshua Lopez Stevens, Grandchildren: Mason, Luke, Renn, Mila, Stella, Mercedes, Isaac, Grant, and his siblings: Ray Hinton Stevens, Perry Hinton Stevens, and Rebecca Ann Sorensen-Horn.

Guy is preceded in death by his parents: Raymond and Mary Jane Stevens, and siblings: James Hinton Stevens and Jan Marie Tharp.

Guy was a patient, gentle father who raised his children with unconditional love. He cherished the time spent with his grandchildren, often delighting them with playful teasing and whimsical phrases.

Professionally, Guy worked at US Synthetic for 20 years, where he was known for his reliability, humility, and quiet diligence. Outside of work, he had a love for the outdoors—hiking, scenic drives, and treasure hunting were among his favorite pastimes. He was a lifelong learner with a curious mind, always eager to explore the mysteries of the world and read about hidden wonders.

Guy was a man of Christ who found great comfort in hymns, church teachings, and spiritual reflection. He had a special interest in the Second Coming and often spent time pondering the deeper doctrines of the gospel. His faith was not loud, but it was deep and sincere, rooted in a quiet reverence for sacred things.

A funeral service will be held on May 31, 2025, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Lakeside 1st ward building: 131 S 1600 W Provo, UT 84601. A public viewing will take place from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. (closed casket), followed by a funeral service from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will take place immediately after the services at the Provo City Cemetery: 610 S State St, Provo, UT. Following the interment, a luncheon will be provided by the Lakeside 1st ward.
