GoFundMe established for Carson City family who lost home in structure fire
- July 11, 2025

A family that lost their home in a June 28 structure at Carson Mobile Home Park is in need of financial help as they try to recover from the fire and find a new place to live. Family and friends have established a GoFundMe fundraiser.
Heather Ainsworth and her family said they would never imagined they would be in this position but are reaching out for help after the devastating fire that destroyed their home.
“Our family of four — my husband, myself, our two sons (15 and 12), and our two beloved Labrador dogs — all made it out safely, and for that, we are beyond grateful. But we lost everything inside our home,” she said. “We are now facing the overwhelming task of finding a new place to live, removing the remains of our home, and rebuilding our life from the ground up for our boys.”
According to Carson City Fire Department, the structure fire happened at around 12:30 p.m. in the 3400 block of South Carson Street. Firefighters arrived to a single wide mobile home with heavy smoke showing.
Once firefighters made entry, the fire was found in the laundry room and kitchen area. Carson City Fire Department declared the home uninhabitable.
Any support — whether through donations, sharing their story, or keeping the family in your thoughts — “means the world to us right now, said Ainsworth. “If you are able to help in any way, we would be forever grateful. Thank you for lifting us up during this unimaginable time.”
