George Burns

George Burns, a beloved brother and friend passed away on June 3, 2025, at the age of 73, in Staten Island. Born on July 13, 1951, in Brooklyn, New York, George lived a full life.

George’s early years in Brooklyn were spent with his siblings, Carol Tracy, Lois Wanio (deceased), William Burns, and Kathleen Oates.

George dedicated himself to a career as a Motorman with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA). After retirement he enjoyed travel to Aruba, Las Vegas and cruising.

George was a longtime member of the Gjoa club in Brooklyn. He enjoyed many years with friends there and Sundays in season were reserved for football with his fellow club members.

The Burns family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to all those who shared in George’s journey. His memory will be cherished and kept alive through the stories told and the lives he touched.

A beautiful life that came to an end, 

he died as he live, everyone’s friend.
