It is with heavy hearts that the family of George Beavis, announce in his 81st year, his peaceful passing on October 14, 2025, surrounded by family at Kingston General Hospital.

George is survived by his beloved wife, Judy (nee Bygott), his children, Steacy (Curtis) and Kevin (Marcia); his grandchildren, Raylai and Inleigh Morrison, and Tierney, Meaghan, and Bronwyn Beavis; and their mother, Shauna. He will be fondly remembered by his sister Eileen Nador (John), and his many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by parents Harold and Lydia Beavis and siblings Jean, Dorothy, and Chuck.

George retired from a career with The Public Utilities Commission in 1995. He was a former member of Kingston City Council and former Trustee of the Limestone District Schoolboard. George was influential in numerous charitable organizations, most notably, chair of The United Way and longtime member of the Kingston Home Builders’ Association.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Cataraqui Heights Retirement Residence for his care and comfort over the last year.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cancer Centre of Southeastern Ontario or The Salvation Army are appreciated.

A visitation will be held on October 22, 2025, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. and 7:00–9:00 p.m. at James Reid Funeral Home, located at 1900 John Counter Boulevard. The funeral service will take place the following day, October 23, 2025, starting at 11:00am, also at James Reid Funeral Home, with a reception to follow.
