Gail Ann Lovie (Danowski) passed away on August 10, 2025 surrounded by her family at Parkwood Hospital in her 73rd year. She fought a long hard battle when diagnosed with cancer one year ago. Pre-deceased by her parents – John & Betty Danowski, her brother Paul Danowski and sister Brenda Schwartz. She will be sadly missed by her daugher Candice Lovie and grandson Giovanni, her sister Carol(ine) Burchill, and brother Ed Danowski (Jan). Also missed by many nieces and nephews, cousins and numerous close friends.
Special mention to Candice and Giovanni -they were the “loves of her life”’; her sister Carol -“her rock”; her brother “little Edu”; Jan – her wonderful sister-in-law; Darlene -her bestie; Catherine – her bestie and golfing buddy for 22 years. Also, her many friends she considered her “kindred spirits” and they each know who they are.
Gail was always glamorous – impeccably dressed with her fashionable clothes, hair style, make up, and known for her “lipstick.”
She worked for many years at Team Truck and at Metro. All of her co-workers loved her as well as the customers at Metro. She was so easy to get along with. Her inner light shone through and always made people feel special and comfortable. Her thoughtfulness and being considerate was shown to everyone.
She touched so many people with her welcoming, beautiful smile, friendliness and positive outlook on life. She was loved by everyone. Our family will have a big hole in it now that she is gone.
During this past year when she knew the end was coming, she always said that she “was not afraid – only sad and shocked that this happened to her”. She had acceptance, faith and trust in her higher power.
She was known as “the dancer” in the family and loved to dance.
The family would like to thank all the wonderful caring doctors, nurses and PSW’s in the Palliative Care Ward at Parkwood and Victoria Hospital. A private family service will be held and a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 20th at the St. George’s Society from 1 pm to 5 pm. Located at 4308 Dundas St., Thames Centre, ON
Arrangements have been left in the care of the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home, 31 Elgin St.
St. Thomas, ON (519-631-0570)
