Former Carson City children’s theater actor is in new ‘Freakier Friday’ movie
- August 7, 2025

AJ Danna, who performed with Wild Horse Children’s Theater and the Brewery Arts Center BAC Stage Kids as a tween, plays the role of a mime in Disney’s new film “Freakier Friday,” a sequel to the 2003 “Freaky Friday” movie starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan.
AJ and his mother, a current Carson City resident, attended the private cast and crew screening of the film last week at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, California.
AJ’s roles for Wild Horse included Aladdin in “Aladdin Jr” and the Caterpillar in “Alice in Wonderland Jr” in 2010, under the direction of Carol Scott.
For BAC Stage Kids, AJ played the Parsee Man in “Just So” and Hamlet in a children’s Shakespeare production, under the direction of Andie (Anderson) Wilkerson.
“Freakier Friday” is playing at Galaxy Theatres in Carson City.
Be sure to keep an eye out for AJ!
