Earlene Lowery

Earlene W. Lowery, 86, passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Forrest General Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at the Petal Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with interment in Highland Cemetery to follow.

Earlene was a member of Petal Harvey Baptist Church and prior to moving to Petal Harvey, she was a member of Glendale Baptist Church. She was the owner of Lowery Day Care for fifty years until her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking for them a Sunday lunch. She also enjoyed her flowers and her cats. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Lowery; a brother, Billy Whitehead; a sister, Merle W. Fortenberry; and her parents, Leonard and Johnnie Whitehead.

She is survived by two sons, Wayne (Rose) Lowery of Petal, Mark (Deena) Lowery of Sumrall; a daughter, Lisa Lowery of Petal; a brother, Dale Whitehead of Petal; five grandchildren, Jason (Stephanie) Lowery, Jared (Kristen) Lowery, Jenna (Ethan) McLeod, Luke (Sarah) Lowery, Laken (Ford) Ramey; fourteen great-grandchildren, Hudson Lowery, Kristen Lowery, Anna Grace Lowery, Hunter Lowery, Landon Lowery, Micah Lowery, Leigha McLeod, Tucker McLeod, Hanley James Lowery, Grayson Bo Lowery, Lainey Elizabeth Lowery, Charlie Kate Ramey, Mary Ford Ramey, Banks Thomas Ramey.

Visitation for Earlene will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at the Petal Chapel of Moore Funeral Home.

At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Homes of Hope for Children.
