We celebrate the life of a man who brought laughter, joy, and warmth wherever he went. Known for his love of puzzles, trivia, dominos, and games, he found delight in the simple pleasures and always welcomed friendly competition with a quick wit and a contagious laugh.

A true jokester at heart, he was spontaneous, fun-loving, and never missed a chance to make others smile. His generosity knew no bounds—he’d give you the shirt off his back without a second thought. His kindness left a lasting impact on everyone he met.

Durban graduated from Sam Houston State as a theater major with a Teaching certification. He went on to work at Jeff Davis High School teaching hotel and restaurant management, then moved on to be the Vice Principal at Jeff Davis High School. He also coached DECA.H. Durban worked at the Renaissance Fair each season in his young adult years where he met many life long friends.

Durban had a deep love for his family and found his greatest joy in spending time with them—especially swimming with his grandkids, where his playful spirit truly came alive. A proud “girl dad” through and through, his daughters were the light of his life, and he loved them fiercely and unconditionally.

He also had a soft spot for travel, always up for an adventure, and a deep fondness for the color purple—a reflection of his vibrant personality and unique charm.

His legacy of laughter, love, and loyalty will live on in every joke shared, every game played, and every heart he touched.

He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
