Donnell Lee Meyer, age 84 of Festus, Missouri passed away Friday, September 12, 2025, at SSM St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He was born December 3, 1940, in Festus, the son of the late Catherine Elizabeth (nee Huene) Meyer and John George Meyer, Sr..
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 44 years Ethel Inez (nee Mitchell) Meyer; siblings Alvin J. (surviving Dorothy) Meyer, Norma J. Hunter, Betty J. (the late Eldon) Eaker, Ruth Ann Meyer; grandchildren Brandon Smith and Jason (surviving Mary Kay) Smith and a great-grandson Kurtis Allen.
He is survived by his children Dennis (the late Barbara) Riggs of Pevely, Missouri, Cindy Sandifer of Crystal City, Missouri, Phyllis Henderson of Skokie, Illinois, Kevin (Donna) Riggs of Herculaneum, Missouri, Becky (Rick DeLarber) Smith of Kimberling City, Missouri, Tim (Rehanna) Meyer of Seattle, Washington and Jim (Karen) Propst of Herculaneum; siblings John G. (Helen) Meyer, Jr. of Festus, Dean R. (Alice) Meyer of Warrenton, Missouri, Patricia (Mike) McMillen of Stayton, Oregon, Mary (Jim) Peterein of Festus and Geralyn J. (Dr. Charles) Prior of DeSoto, Missouri; grandchildren Dawn Dickson, Sherry (Jeff) Voss, Matthew (Becky) Riggs, Amanda (Jeff) Wideman, Michael (the late Keisha) Allen, Ryan (Nick) Lawler, Kyle (Whitney) Riggs, Kory Riggs, Kelsey (Andy) Guthrie, Collen Meyer and Landon Meyer; 27 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren and his dog Miles.
Donnell worked as a autoworker for Chrysler. He served in the Army National Guard. He was a devoted catholic and member of Sacred Heart church. He loved going to dinner with his daughters everyday. Playing solitaire on his computer. Loving and caring for his dog Miles. He loved making faces at his daughter Becky while arguing with her that he loved her most but Phyllis was his favorite.
A Celebration of Life will be Monday, September 22, 2025, at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus, from 12:30 PM until time of service at 2:00 PM officiated by Pastor Scott Parker. Interment to follow in Herculaneum Cemetery.
