Carson High School Speech takes top spots at First League Tournament
Carson High School Speech and Debate had an exciting start to the 2025-2026 competitive season! With their first tournament held at McQueen High School September 12-13, competitors participated in events ranging from Informative Speaking to Debate on international relations. The following students broke into final rounds and placed in their events.
Novice Impromptu
- Sophomore Danny Schell – 3rd Place

- Sophomore Yaretzi Castillo – 6th Place
Senior Impromptu
- Junior Ivan Romeo – 3rd Place
Senior Humorous Interpretation
- Senior Erick Martinez – 6th Place
Senior Original Oratory
- Junior Claire Dillon – 4th Place
Senior Foreign Extemporaneous Speaking
- Senior Captain Nasia Perkins – 1st Place
- Junior Tommy Lance – 5th Place
- Senior Lexi Ropp – 6th Place
Congressional Debate
- Sophomore Danny Schell – 3rd Place
Senior Public Forum Debate
- Senior Captain Kyle Allen and Junior Claire Dillon – 1st Place
Senior Lincoln Douglas Debate
