Donita Knox

Donita entered into eternal life on September 27, 2025. She was born on July 29, 1962 in Chicago, Illinois to Emanuel and Diane Bentley, both whom preceded her in death.

Tiny was raised on the South side of Chicago where she attended Chicago Vocational High School and trained as a “Court Reporter.” For a brief time, she worked with the Cook County State’s Attorney Office. She went on to fill various roles at community hospitals.

She joined Gregory McBride, Sr. in matrimony and to this union her only child was born, Gregory McBride, Jr.

Tiny was also a seamstress and enjoyed making clothes for her and Greg, Jr. She was a good cook and spent many hours perfecting recipes. You could always find her working in her flower garden. She accepted Christ and was a part of the Prayer Ministry for many years. She was a faithful believer until she took her last breath.

She later married her life partner, Ernest Knox, Jr. and gained a stepdaughter, Tamesha Knox-Renfro while raising their son Gregory. They led a life of travels and eventually settled in South Carolina where they adopted her precious dog Fiona.

Her compassionate nature led her to share blessings with others while she devoted countless hours to volunteer work, mostly in hospitals. Tiny had a sunny disposition and a heart of gold. She always sought ways to bring a smile to others.

Devoted husband Ernest, son Gregory (Nichelle), stepson Derrick (Tamesha), loving sister Theresa, brother Raymond (Jackie), father-in-law Earnest, sister-in-law Tonya (Anthony), sister-in-law Bonita (Emanuel II), grandsons Ayden, Davian, Derrick Jr, Daniel, DeAndre and Deshaun, aunts Juanita, Delois, Sandy (William), Diane, Anita (Paul) and Dee Dee, Uncle Eddison (Crystal), Uncle Frank and Leroy, a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.
