Dennis Couch

Dennis Charles Couch, 67, of Mansfield passed away February 2, 2025 at the OSU Wexner Medical Center.

Dennis was born February 3, 1957 in Wheeling, West Virginia to Charles “Pop” and Annie Couch, who preceded him in death. He was a 1975 graduate of Sandusky High School and then graduated from The Ohio State University with a BS degree in Industrial Design. Dennis enjoyed working at a variety of businesses including Murfin Printing in Columbus and Athens, GA, and then owned the Black Squirrel Bed & Breakfast in South Bass Island. After this, he moved to Mansfield where he spent time at Apogee Plastics, Spitzer Auto Mall, The Steer Barn and G & M Body Shop. Many people knew him in the Woodland neighborhood for his handyman work that he completed in his spare time.

Dennis was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and was known for his big smile and even bigger laugh. He was extremely creative sharing his talents throughout his life. Being a proud father, some of his favorite moments were scoreboard keeper and line judge during Audrey’s volleyball games at St. Peter’s High school and watching her creativity grow in college. Also cheering Joey on the sidelines during cross country and track and field meets for St. Peter’s and attending his graduation from BMT. One highlight of his life was walking his daughter Kelsey down the aisle and seeing her family grow.

Hobbies were a big part of Dennis’ life including restoring 2 old wooden motor boats, cooking, grilling and smoking everything he could, sharing holiday meals, and making breakfast for his family. Friday night date nights with Margaret, and yearly vacations to French Lick, IN along with going to Lake Erie and Cedar Point with his family brought a lot of enjoyment for all of the family. The Ohio State National Championship game brought a huge smile to this OSU Buckeye fan!

Survivors include his wife of nearly 26 years, Margaret Au Couch; son Charles “Joey” Couch; daughters Audrey Couch, Kelsey (Danny) Klos; granddaughters Denver, Ray and Brennan; siblings Daren (Kathy) Couch, Deborah (Don) Reginer, Dana (Bill) Blumensaadt; nephews and nieces Brandon, Amber, Zach, Meghan, Justin, Nikolai, Mette, and their families.
