David A. Kienbaum, age 77, of Kiel, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at home following a 15 year battle with various cancers, along with lung and heart issues. He was recently diagnosed with leukemia.
Dave was born on November 28, 1947 to Marie (Wendling) and Arno Kienbaum. He attended Kiel area schools and joined the Army in March of 1965. Dave was assigned as a medical aid man at the 225th Station Hospital in Germany.
Dave enjoyed the outdoors, including deer hunting and fishing. He looked forward every year to his fishing trip to Sand Lake in Minnesota with his friend Larry. Dave also enjoyed watching all sports on TV, especially college football.
Dave is survived by his wife of 40 years, Donna; his children, Kelly of Green Bay, Kevin of Mexico City, and Cassie of St. Paul; his sisters and brother, Dorothy (Dan) Klemme, Ruth (Bob) Arnold, and Dan (Barb) Kienbaum, along with his uncle, Rudy, and aunts, Elsie, Nancy, and Darlene. He is also survived by his sisters- and brother-in-law, Joan (Mike) Krubsack, James Bluhm, Betty (Doug) Kohlwey, Bonnie (Bob) Fieber, and Brenda (Kim) Dautermann.
He is preceded in death by his parents Marie and Arno Kienbaum, his in-laws Arlene and Norbert Bluhm, and brother-in-law Gary Bluhm, along with numerous aunts and uncles.
A celebration of Dave’s life will be held on Friday, July 18th, 2025 from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family in David’s name.
Dave’s family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Aurora Medical Center of Sheboygan and Grafton, along with doctors at the Vince Lombardi Cancer Center in Sheboygan. A special thank you goes to Dr. Woody and Dr. Kream for their care and support.
